Berry with menthol is the most widely carried idea in the whole TEREA catalogue. Every range we buy from has a version of it, and no other flavour concept comes close to that spread.
The catch is that it goes by four different names depending on the market, and it is sold at three distinctly different cooling levels. Two packs both called Purple something can be a long way apart.
This page puts all of them together so you can see which one you actually want.
Four names, one idea
Purple Wave is the name used in the UAE, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Indonesian ranges. Cooling is set at the lighter end, which keeps the berry in front for the whole stick.
Purple Menthol is the Japanese name. Moderate cooling, with the berry still clearly leading.
Black Purple and Black Purple Menthol are the intensified versions, from Indonesia and Japan respectively. Same berry direction, top-tier cooling, and the difference is not subtle.
So the ladder runs from Purple Wave at the light end, through Purple Menthol in the middle, up to the Black variants at the top. If you know which of those three levels you want, the name tells you the rest.
Two different berries
Worth knowing before you order, because this is where people who like one version get caught out by another.
The Japanese versions are built on blueberry. Philip Morris describes Purple Menthol as a luxurious blueberry aroma with refreshing menthol, and Black Purple Menthol as the same berry with strong cooling. The note is rounded and deep rather than sharp.
Everything else is built on dark forest fruit, which means blackberry, blackcurrant and dark plum together. That combination reads tarter than blueberry, with an edge appearing on the exhale that keeps the sweetness from stacking up across a stick.
Neither is better. They are different fruits, and people usually have a clear preference once they have tried both.
What it tastes like
The berry arrives first and stays in front through the session, which is the defining characteristic of this branch. In a plain menthol the cooling leads and everything else works around it. Here the fruit does the leading and the menthol supports.
That balance is why Purple sticks work as an all-day option for a lot of people who find pure menthols tiring. The cold cleans the palate between draws without ever overtaking the flavour.
The tobacco base stays present underneath rather than disappearing, which is what stops these tasting like flavoured vapour. It is more noticeable in the second half of a stick as your palate adjusts.
At the Black end the balance shifts. The berry is still there and still leads, but the cooling becomes a genuine contrast rather than a support, and the tension between dark fruit sweetness and hard chill on every draw is the whole point of those two.
The seven we stock
From the UAE, Purple Wave Menthol is the official local release, filed by Philip Morris under a fresh and forest berry profile. It comes in Arabic and English packaging at official pricing and it is the only version on this page carried through official channels here.
From Armenia, Purple Wave is the cheapest berry stick we sell. It sits in a short six-flavour range that carries only proven sellers.
From Kazakhstan, the berry variant runs forest fruit over a steady cooling. It comes from our largest range, sixteen flavours including five Pearl capsule variants.
From Indonesia, Purple Wave belongs to the Wave sub-line, built around lighter and more integrated cooling. Black Purple is its high-intensity counterpart, running blackberry, blackcurrant and dark plum over top-tier cold.
From Japan, Purple Menthol is the blueberry version with moderate cooling, and Black Purple Menthol is the same blueberry with the cooling turned to maximum. The latter has been among the strongest sellers in the Japanese range since launch.
Which one should you buy
- If price is the priority, Armenia or Indonesia.
- If you want blueberry rather than dark forest fruit, Japan, and pay the premium for it.
- If you want maximum cooling with the berry, Black Purple from Indonesia or Black Purple Menthol from Japan. The Indonesian one is considerably cheaper for the same idea.
- If packaging language matters or the pack is a gift, the UAE version.
- If you are coming from berry-flavoured menthol cigarettes and want the closest match, start at the Purple Wave level rather than the Black one. The Black tier is a step beyond most cigarette equivalents.
- The price gaps across ranges come from tobacco excise in each source market rather than from anything inside the pack.
Devices, format and storage
Twenty sticks per pack, 200 per carton across ten packs, with cartons cheaper per stick. A session runs up to six minutes or fourteen puffs.
All of these need induction heating. IQOS ILUMA, ILUMA ONE and ILUMA PRIME, the whole ILUMA i series, and the LAMBDA i8, i9 and i10. They will not heat in an IQOS 3 DUO, IQOS ORIGINALS, lil, LAMBDA T3 or LAMBDA CC, because those use a blade and TEREA has no space for one. Those devices take HEETS.
Berry notes hold up better in heat than citrus does, but the menthol alongside them does flatten over a summer in a parked car. Keep packs sealed and out of direct sun.
One practical point at the Black end. That cooling level carries into the next stick, so leave a minute between sessions and longer before switching to a plain tobacco variant.
Delivery
Every version listed here is held in stock with delivery across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and the rest of the UAE, usually within two hours. Free shipping above 200 AED, card on delivery or cash, and same day dispatch on orders placed between 6:00 AM and 11:30 PM, seven days a week.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Purple Wave and Purple Menthol?
Mostly the market and the cooling level. Purple Wave is the name used outside Japan and sits at the lighter end of cooling. Purple Menthol is the Japanese name with moderate cooling and a blueberry rather than forest fruit character.
Which Purple is strongest?
Black Purple from Indonesia and Black Purple Menthol from Japan. Both sit in the top cooling tier.
Which berry is it, exactly?
Blueberry in the Japanese versions. Blackberry, blackcurrant and dark plum in everything else.
Is Purple sweet?
The berry is clearly sweet, but the menthol cuts it and a tart edge appears on the exhale, so it does not build up across a stick the way a pure fruit flavour would.
Which one is in the official UAE range?
Purple Wave Menthol. It is the only version on this page distributed through official channels here.
Cheapest option?
Armenia and Indonesia sit at the lower end of our pricing. Both carry a Purple Wave.
Is this a good first flavour if I smoked menthols?
It is a good second one. Turquoise is the closer match to a plain menthol cigarette. Come here when you want fruit alongside the cold.
